qālū ūdhīnā min qabli an tatiyanā wamin baʿdi mā ji'tanā qāla ʿasā rabbukum an yuh'lika ʿaduwwakum wayastakhlifakum fī l-arḍi fayanẓura kayfa taʿmalūn
They said, "We have been harmed from before [that] you came to us and from after [what] you have come to us." He said, "Perhaps your Lord [that] will destroy your enemy and make you successors in the earth, then see how you will do."
[But the children of Israel] said: "We have suffered hurt ere thou camest to us and since thou hast come to us!" [Moses] replied: "It may well be that your Sustainer will destroy your foe and make you inherit the earth: and thereupon he will behold how you act."
They said: We suffered hurt before thou camest unto us, and since thou hast come unto us. He said: It may be that your Lord is going to destroy your adversary and make you viceroys in the earth, that He may see how ye behave
They said: "We have had (nothing but) trouble, both before and after thou camest to us." He said: "It may be that your Lord will destroy your enemy and make you inheritors in the earth; that so He may try you by your deeds."
They complained, “We have always been oppressed—before and after you came to us ˹with the message˺.” He replied, “Perhaps your Lord will destroy your enemy and make you successors in the land to see what you will do.”
[The children of Israel] said, "We were being persecuted long before you came to us, and since then too." [Moses] replied, "Your Lord may well destroy your enemy and make you successors to the land to see how you behave."
They replied, We were being persecuted before you came to us, and we are still being persecuted. He said, Your Lord may well destroy your enemy and make you successors to the land. Then He will see how you conduct yourselves
They said: We have been persecuted before you came to us and since you have come to us. He said: It may be that your Lord will destroy your enemy and make you rulers in the land, then He will see how you act
They said: We were maligned before thou hast approached us and after thou hast drawn near to us. He said: Perhaps your Lord will cause your enemy to perish and make you successors to him on the earth so that He will look on how you do.
They said: "We were oppressed before you came to us, and [will be again] after you have come to us." He said: ´Perhaps your Lord will wipe out your enemy and leave you as overlords on earth, so He may observe how you act."
They said: “We had suffered before you came to us, and after you came to us.” He said: “May be that your Lord will destroy your enemy and make you successors in the earth, so that He will see how you act.”
They said, “We were persecuted before you came to us, and after you came to us.” He said, “It may be that your Lord will destroy your enemies and make you vicegerents upon the earth, that He may observe how you behave.
They said: “We were put to sufferings before you came to us and (even) afterwards as you came to us.” (Musa) said: “It is expected of your Nourisher-Sustainer that He destroys your enemy and make you settling successors on earth (and) then watch how you act upon.”
They said: "We were oppressed before you came to us and since you have come to us." He replied: "It is quite possible that your Lord may destroy your enemy and make you vicegerent in the land; then He will see how you act."
They said, 'We were persecuted before you came to us, and after you came to us.' He said, 'Perhaps your Lord will destroy your enemy, and make you successors in the land; then He will see how you behave.'
They said, "We were hurt even before you came up to us and even after you came to us." Said he, "It may be that your Lord will cause your enemy to perish and make you successors in the earth; so He looks into how you do."
His people said, "We suffered a great deal before you came and we are still suffering even after you have come." Moses (tried to encourage them) by saying, "There is hope that your Lord will destroy your enemies and make you (their) successors in the land. So consider how you act."
They said, .We were persecuted before you came to us and after you have come to us. He said, .Hopefully your Lord will destroy your enemy and make you successors in the land, then He will see how you act
Fearing persecution they said, "We suffered before you came to us and after you have come to us." Moses said, "Your Lord will annihilate your enemy, and you will inherit the earth. Then He will see what kind of works you do."
Musa´s nation said, "We were being tortured and persecuted before you were sent to us, and even since you have been with us." Musa said, "Perhaps your Lord will (completely) wipe out your enemy, and appoint you the successors in the land. Then, He will observe how you conduct yourselves."
They said: "We have had (only) trouble, both before and after you came to us." He said: "It may be that your Lord will destroy your enemy and make you the inheritors in the earth; That so He may try you by your actions."
They said, "We have been harmed before you came to us and after you have come to us." He said, "Perhaps your Lord will destroy your enemy and grant you succession in the land and see how you will do."
They said: "We were being harmed before you came to us and since you have come to us." He said: "Perhaps your Lord will destroy your enemy, and make you successors in the land, so He sees how you act"
and they replied, ‘We were being persecuted long before you came to us, and since then too.’ He said, ‘Your Lord may well destroy your enemy and make you successors to the land to see how you behave.’
They said: oppressed we have been ere thou camest unto us and since thou hast come unto us. He said: belike your Lord will destroy your enemy and establish yougs in their stead in the land, thathe may see what wise ye act
They said: "We were oppressed before you came, and have been since you have come to us." He answered: "It may well be that soon God may destroy your enemy and make you inherit the land, and then see how you behave."
They said, ´We suffered harm before you came to us and after you came to us.´ He said, ´It may well be that your Lord is going to destroy your enemy and make you the successors in the land so that He can see how you behave.´
They (having been subjected to persecutions by the Pharaoh) said: "We suffered hurt before you came to us, and since you came to us." He (Moses) replied: "It may well be that your Lord is going to destroy your enemy and make you the inheritors of rule in (some part of) the earth: and then He will look to see how you act (when you hold power)."
They said, ‘We were tormented before you came to us and [also] after you came to us.’ He said, ‘Maybe your Lord will destroy your enemy and make you successors in the land, and then He will see how you act.’
They said, "We suffered before you did come to us, and also since you have come to us." Said he, "It may be that your Lord will destroy your foe, and will make you vicegerents (inheritors, successors) in the earth, that He may see how you
They said: we were harassed before you come to us and after you came to us. He said: perhaps your Master destroys your enemy and make you the successors in the land to see how you do
They said, “We have had troubles, both before and after you came to us.” He said, “It may be that your Lord will destroy your enemy and make you inheritors in the earth, so He may try you by your deeds.
They said, “We suffered before you came and continue to suffer.” He said, “It may be that your Lord will destroy your enemy and make you successors in the land, so that He may see how you will behave.
The people of Moses replied: ´We were oppressed before your coming to us and after it.´ Moses said: ´Your Lord will soon destroy your enemy and make you rulers in the land. Then He will see how you act.´
They said: "We were being harmed before you came to us and since you have come to us." He said: "Perhaps your Lord will destroy your enemy, and make you successors in the land, so He sees how you work?"
They said, "We have been persecuted before you came to us and since you have come to us." He said, "It may be that your Lord will destroy your enemy and make you rulers in the land, and then He will see how you act."
They said, 'We were oppressed before your coming to us and since you have come to us', He said, 'it is near that your Lord may destroy your foe and make you successor in the land to see then how you act.
They said, "We were persecuted before you came to us, and after you came to us." He said, "Your Lord will annihilate your enemy and establish you on earth, then He will see how you behave."
They replied: 'We were hurt before you came to us, and after you came to us. ' He said: 'Your Lord may destroy your enemies and make you inheritors in the land. Then He will see how you conduct yourselves.
They said: We were persecuted before thou camest to us and since thou hast come to us. He said: It may be that your Lord will destroy your enemy and make you rulers in the land, then He will see how you act
They said: "We were mildly harmed from before that you came to us, and from after what you came to us." He said: "Maybe/perhaps (hopefully) your Lord, that He destroys/perishes your enemy and He makes you successors in the earth/Planet Earth/land, so He sees/watches how you do/work ."
His people complained: "What is this? Before you come to use we were oppressed and now that you have come to us, we are still oppressed!" Moses said: "In the near future God will destroy your enemies and establish you as His representative on earth to see whether or not you will choose to behave accordingly."
They said, "We have been oppressed before you came to us, and after you have come to us"; he said, "It is likely that your Lord may destroy your enemy and in his place make you the rulers of the earth, and then see what deeds you perform."
They replied, `We were persecuted before thou camest to us and even after thou camest to us.' He said, `Your Lord is about to destroy your enemy and make you rulers in the land, that HE may see how you act.
They said: ‘(O Musa [Moses]!) We were persecuted before you came to us and after your arrival as well. (We have suffered both ways. When will our misery end?) Musa ([Moses] appeasing his people) said: ‘Your Lord will soon destroy your enemy and (then) make you the successors (to the governance) in the land and He will then monitor how you perform (after coming to power).
They (- the persons of superficial thinking of the Children of Israel) said, `We were persecuted before you came to us and (are being persecuted) even after you have come to us.' (Moses) said, `It is well nigh that your Lord will destroy your enemy and make you rulers in the (promised) land and then He will see how you act.
They said: "We (Children of Israel) had suffered troubles before you came to us, and since you have come to us." He said: "It may be that your Lord will destroy your enemy and make you successors on the earth, so that He may see how you act?"
They said, 'We have been hurt before thou camest to us, and after thou camest to us.' He said, 'Perchance your Lord will destroy your enemy, and will make you successors in the land, so that He may behold how you shall do.
They replied, 'We were persecuted before thou camest to us and even after thou camest to us.' He said, 'Your Lord is about to destroy your enemy and make you rulers in the land, that He may see how you act.
They said, 'We have been hurt before thou didst come to us, and since thou hast come to us.' Said he, 'It may be that your Lord will destroy your foe, and will make you succeed him in the earth; and He will see how ye act.
"We have been oppressed," they said, "before thou camest to us, and since thou hast been with us:" "Perhaps," said he, "your Lord will destroy your enemy, and will make you his successors in the land, and He will see how ye will act therein."
They said: ‘We were oppressed before you came to us, and still are we after your coming.‘ He said: ‘Your Lord will perchance destroy your enemies and give you the land to inherit. Then will He see how you will act.‘
They said, “We have had troubles both before and after you came to us.” He said, “Perhaps your Lord will destroy your enemy and make you inheritors of the land and then see how you conduct yourselves.”
They said: "We were oppressed before you came to us, and [will be again] after you have come to us." He said: 'Perhaps your Lord will wipe out your enemy and leave you as overlords on earth, so He may observe how you act."
They said: “We have been oppressed before you came to us and since you have come to us.†He replied: “It may well be that your Lord will destroy your enemy and leave you to inherit the earth. He will then see how you conduct yourselves.â€
(The people of Moses said) “We have been tortured before you came to us and after you have come to us”... (Moses said) “Perhaps your Rabb will destroy your enemy and appoint you vicegerents on earth (in their stead) and see how you will do.”
They said: � We have been hurt before you came to us and (also) after you came to us.� He said: � Maybe that your Lord will destroy your enemy and will make you successors in the earth, then He observes how you act
But in despair did his people say to him: " We have been burdened with cruel impositions before you came to us and since you have been with us". " May Allah, your Creator, said Mussa , reduce your enemy into a useless form and designate you the successors in the land, and then He shall see how you conduct yourselves in life!"
They said, "We were harmed before you came to us and (even) after you came to us." He said, "It may be that your Fosterer will destroy your enemy and make you successors in the land, then see how you act."
They said: "We have had (nothing but) trouble, both before and after thou camest to us." He said: "It may be that your Lord will destroy your enemy and make you inheritors in the earth; that so He may try you by your deeds."
They said, "We have been harmed before [that] you came to us and after [what] you have come to us." He said, "Perhaps your Lord [that] will destroy your enemy and make you successors in the earth, then see how you will do.
